The course starts in Dingle town, heads toward Ventry and Slea Head, and runs along the spectacular Atlantic coastline. You get views toward the Blasket Islands, cliffs, beaches and rugged Irish countryside. On race day, traffic is removed from Slea Head, so runners get the road to themselves.
The full marathon eventually returns inland and finishes back in Dingle.

This isn’t the marathon I’d choose if your primary goal is a personal best.
The course has substantial rolling terrain, with roughly 427 m of elevation gain according to one course database.
