HOKA Cielo X1 2.0
The Cielo X1 2.0 uses a dual-density PEBA midsole, a winged carbon plate, and HOKA’s aggressive Speed-centric MetaRocker geometry.
The result is a shoe that feels like it wants to push you forward. Its ride is particularly aggressive and works well for runners who naturally generate a strong push-off.
Best for: runners who like a pronounced rocker and an energetic, rolling transition.
PUMA Fast-R NITRO Elite 3
The Fast-R NITRO Elite 3 uses NITROFOAM Elite together with an extended carbon-fiber PWRPLATE. PUMA positions it as its fastest race-day shoe, designed for distances ranging from shorter road races through the marathon.
The shoe is also dramatically lighter than the Cielo X1 2.0, which can become especially important during the final kilometers of a marathon.
Marathon Comfort
The Cielo X1 2.0 has a more substantial and aggressive platform, combining PEBA cushioning with a powerful rocker. It can feel highly protective and propulsive over long distances.
The PUMA combines maximum cushioning with a very lightweight construction. Its 40 mm / 32 mm geometry gives it plenty of cushioning for marathon racing without adding much weight.
Carbon Plate and Propulsion
HOKA
The winged carbon fiber plate works together with the aggressive MetaRocker geometry to create a very pronounced forward motion.
PUMA
The PWRPLATE is designed to stabilize the foam and maximize energy transfer. Combined with the extremely lightweight NITROFOAM Elite platform, the goal is efficient propulsion at race pace.
Simple answer:
PUMA Fast-R NITRO Elite 3 – faster, lighter, more efficient ๐
HOKA Cielo X1 2.0 – more aggressive rocker and distinctive propulsive feel ๐
